Technology Resources
The SBA Network of business coaches have found these online resources valuable
for your business. Get the goods to help grow your business into a successful
enterprise with professional business coaching resources.
Google
Besides being the best of all search engines, Google maintains an archive of
newsgroup messages from the past 15-20 years. If you need to know some piece of
information, start by searching at Google. If you don’t find the results you
need, click on the “Groups” tab. This will pull up search results from their
Usenet newsgroup archive. These are messages that people have posted for public
reading and chances are that someone out there has looked for whatever
information it is that you need now, and hopefully they’ve posted an answer to a
newsgroup. Another important but less widely known search engine is
Teoma. You can search through clustered
results and refine searches based on themes.
Microsoft Template Gallery
Looking for a pre-formatted business card? Want to make a custom calendar? Does
your company need to create employee ID badges? Look no further than the
Microsoft Office Template Gallery. This site has hundreds of FREE templates
available for you to download and use. They come pre-formatted, so all you have
to do is customize them to your liking.
Design
Gallery Live
Now that you have your templates, you may want to spice them up a little with
some graphics. You can find thousands of royalty free images, videos, and sounds
all for FREE at this site. Microsoft has compiled an extensive clip art library
and made it available. You can search on a keyword and pull up thumbnails of the
results, which saves you the trouble of looking through the huge books of tiny
pictures that finding clip art usually involves.
The
Quote Lady
This site lets you find a quote that helps you to express exactly the sentiment
you wish. Search on a keyword and there will almost always be a quote to help
you get across the tone you need- be it poignant, humorous, or serious. If you
write articles or give talks, this site is a great place to start looking for
the right quote to help get your point across.
SlickDeals
If you like bargains, try this site out. Every day they post a few “Slick
Deals”. They tend to be focused on computer related items, but often times you
will find coupon codes for on-line retailers, specials that are available only
in stores, or combinations of products and rebates that let you get lots of
great stuff for next to nothing.
